Description
The Sundborg Center for Community Engagement (CCE) connects the classroom, campus and community to promote a more just and humane world. The CCE is the hub for the Seattle University Youth Initiative (SUYI), including this year’s SU Gives focus of the Redhawk Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP) at Washington Middle School (WMS). Launched in 2011, this signature initiative unites campus and nearby neighborhoods to support youth and families. Our cradle-to-career pathway prepares local youth for success.
Donations are applied to...
The Redhawk Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP) at Washington Middle School (WMS). As part of the Seattle University Youth Initiative’s (SUYI) cradle-to-career pathway, RAMP at Washington Middle School connects Seattle University students with middle school scholars. The program offers 1-on-1 mentoring, classroom support for teachers, and a bridge to the Change Makers High School Cohort. SU mentors and scholars build relationships and work to support their social-emotional and academic development.
Why are donations necessary?
All gifts during SU Gives will fund the Redhawk Academic Mentoring Program at Washington Middle School (RAMP). These programs aim to create a place for scholars to find support in others, grow skills and relationships, support academic achievement and social-emotional well-being, and engage families in learning processes and decision making. Your donations will help scholars and families see themselves as vital parts of the school and larger community, feel ownership of their education, all of which leads to increased academic performance.
