Description

The Education Abroad Office (EAO) believes that meaningful engagement with diverse cultures enhances the Seattle U experience by fostering intellectual, personal, and professional skills needed to become "leaders for a just and humane world." Education abroad outcomes include: Academic enrichment through comparative and experiential learning Proficiency in a foreign language Strengthened cultural competency and humility Deepened understanding of self, community, and the world Increased problem-solving ability and adaptability Professional development and network building Students who have had an education abroad experience consistently report that it is the most memorable and impactful part of their undergraduate studies and that it strengthened their sense of belonging and connection to SU's mission. For many students, however, cost is a significant barrier to studying abroad. Until now, SU has not had a dedicated education abroad scholarship. Donating to the Education Abroad Scholarship Fund will support SU students with financial need realize their goal of studying abroad. Even small donations can go a long way in opening doors for students as small costs add-up.
