Description
First, our focus for this year's campaign is to raise funds for a new data collection system that measures performance and efficiency of movement. This new system (Hudl) is an example of our collaboration with other campus departments, specifically this partnership is with Athletics. Approximately 1 out of every 5 current KINE UG students participate in organized sports activities. Additionally, the Hudl system will allow KINE GR students who seek to complete our new Data Science track access to performance data associated with these sports teams.
Our department is having a very active February! Our companion club, Exercise is Medicine, is hosting a month-long exercise promotion project via friendly competition among the different classes. Our podcast, The Redhawk Squawk, is currently hosting a series exploring the different careers that kinesiology majors can go into. Several of our classes are working on projects within the community, such as with Washington Middle School and L’arche Seattle. As with the past few years, Yeti Kineti will be helping us campaign during this year's SU Gives 24 hours of Giving!
This year, SU Gives donations will help support our student's professional development. We will use this year's gifts to set up scholarships that will support students who are attending conferences, clinical placements that require travel, and design co-curricular activities with the van in the community, which will change how our students learn. Every gift we receive will directly impact a student's education.
We believe that supporting our students on their journeys is incredibly important, and we hope that our community feels the same, too!
We are asking that you help the Yeti by making a gift to SU Kinesiology on Thursday, February 29. Each gift will get our yeti, our students, and our department one step closer to our journey supporting the student experience.
Giving a little will help a lot!
