About the Immigrant Justice Clinic
The Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic houses several specialized legal clinics that empower Seattle University School of Law students to assist actual clients under expert faculty supervision. The Immigrant Justice Clinic – led by Professor Zaida Rivera, President-elect of the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington – represents clients facing the challenges of navigating the complex and often intimidating systems governing immigration status. Through their participation in the clinic, students learn the practical skills required to be effective advocates while also learning invaluable lessons about how to fully step into the role and responsibilities of a lawyer.
As part of a comprehensive University effort to protect and support our non-citizen students and live out our Jesuit values, the Immigrant Justice Clinic has responded to recent announcements and policy changes at the federal level by: (1) providing basic information in sessions across campus; and (2) offering currently-enrolled undocumented and international students individual consultations and assistance with filling out necessary forms or taking other basic steps to protect their rights.

they seek to preserve their ability to continue their studies, seek safety and
stability, and/or otherwise go about their lives.
