What is the Seattle University Fund and why is it important?
The Seattle University Fund is unrestricted funding that helps us meet our students' and campus's most urgent needs. The SU Fund is a critical “superhero” fund that can be used when and where it is needed most.
More than 30% of the SU Fund goes towards need-based scholarships for students – keeping SU affordable and within reach of students who would otherwise be unable to afford the cost of tuition. 67% of Seattle University students have a demonstrated financial need.
Another third of the SU Fund helps maintain our beautiful First Hill campus. Beyond that, the SU Fund also helps complete emergency repairs or help with renovations on our older buildings on campus. Did you know that until this year, Campion Hall had all its original windows since it was built in 1969? The SU Fund helps with renovation projects on campus just like that.
The final third of the SU Fund directly supports the unique student experience on campus and bolsters our academic instruction. In addition to cutting-edge facilities and world-class faculty, the SU Fund also cares for our students’ well-being and supports campus life.
SU Fund Impact
When you make a gift to the SU Fund, you:
- Expand scholarship access and bring SU within reach to more students
- Ensure SU has what it needs to maintain critical infrastructure and keep our campus beautiful
- Strengthen SU’s curriculum and support student life
Whether you support us with a $5, $50 or $500 gift, your support is the foundation of providing our transformative student experience on campus.
