The International Student Center is the home away from home for our diverse international campus population, providing holistic support for students’ immigration, social, and professional needs through advising and community-building events. Through our new emergency funds, we can begin providing needed financial assistance to international students who have severe economic hardships and need to apply for government work authorization to be able to continue their academic and professional journey at Seattle University.
Every Gift Matters
We're asking for your help in supporting our international students achieve their goals. A gift of $410 covers the cost of a student’s application fee for practical training work authorization to allow them to gain meaningful work experience in their field of study after graduation, promoting the success of our newest alumni. A gift of $410 also covers the cost of a student’s application fee for off-campus work authorization for international students needing to support themselves financially during their studies.
A donation in any amount can make a real difference in helping an international student achieve their academic and professional goals here in the United States. Please consider supporting this new emergency fund so that government application fees are not a barrier to a student's professional success.
From Students Who Can Benefit
“Supporting the emergency fund of the International Student Center will go a long way to helping most international students currently facing economic hardship realities, and yet do not qualify for most domestic scholarships or loans.” – Obed Kabanda, Doctoral Candidate, GSC President & Chair, Class of 2021 (Uganda)
“The ISC helped me to successfully waive my OPT application fee when I had severe economic hardship. By successfully waiving the application fee, I was able to spend more time on my studies and finding a job.” – Rishat Dilimulat, Alumni, Class of 2019 (China)
