Our department is having a very active February! Along with our department's podcast playlist celebrating Black History Month, we are also sending a group down the West Coast to engage with high school and college students, while collecting data with the equipment purchased from proceeds of last year's SU Gives. While Rudy Redhawk hangs out with Sean and our grad students, Yeti Kineti will be helping us campaign during this year's SU Gives 24 hours of Giving.
This year, SU Gives donations will help support our student's professional development. We will use this year's gifts to set up scholarships that will support students who are attending conferences, clinical placements that require travel, and design co-curricular activities with the van in the community, which will change how our students learn. Every gift we receive will directly impact a student's education.
We believe that supporting our students on their journeys is incredibly important, and we aren't the only ones. A donor has offered a challenge to our department: If we can receive 50 gifts, we will unlock an additional $2500 gift! To honor that generosity, Yeti Kineti will be going on their own journey throughout the 24 hours of SU Gives...one step, one gift, at a time.
We are asking that you help the Yeti by making a gift to SU Kinesiology on Thursday, 24 February. Each gift will get our yeti, our students, and our department one step closer to our journey supporting the student experience.
Giving a little will help a lot.
