Social Work

Social Justice Focused & Community-Based Social Work

The mission of the Department of Social Work is to educate students for social justice-focused and community-based social work practice. We educate our students to challenge systemic injustice, help those in vulnerable situations, heal trauma, and strive for social change through their practices. We are committed to respectful engagement and collaboration with community partners in our scholarship, teaching, and service.

Donations to Social Work Department funds will be used to help undergraduate and graduate students achieve academic excellence. Your gift can help provide PPE for students doing clinical work or with tuition support for students experiencing grave financial hardships. You can also help students with a gift to our Taylene Watson Social Justice (Undergraduate) Scholarship or the Etnyre-Scheingold Clinical Social Work (MSW) Scholarship.
