Diversity Scholarships for MBA SEM

Diversity Scholarships for MBA Sport and Entertainment Management

MBA SEM is one of five MBA programs offered by Seattle University’s Albers School of Business and Economics. This is a new graduate program in Albers which prepares students for careers in the sport and entertainment industry.  Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is a hallmark of the MBA SEM, and we are proud to be the first program of its kind to prioritize DEI as a core philosophy. The program is focused on developing professional business leaders from diverse backgrounds, and scholarships allow us to attract and retain diverse students.

The 24-month program aims to develop leadership skills and business acumen and offers an authentic experiential immersion curriculum. Students benefit from the MBA SEM with:

  • Close contact, real-world projects with multiple levels of organizational leadership
  • Leadership skills and business acumen preparing them for the sport industry professional workplace
  • Understanding of venue management and operation, venue sustainability for sports organization and music/entertainment tours, and DEI and anti-racism in sports

Our current cohort is 34% BIPOC and 22% female. Our goal by 2023 is to have 50% BIPOC and 50% female. Gifts to this fund provide scholarships aimed specifically at increasing diversity by assisting BIPOC (or underrepresented) students who are enrolled in the program.
